Ghanaian President speaks out on Togolese crisis



Ghana's President, Nana Akufi-Addo, is part of the Group of 5 Heads of State, which are working to resolve the Togolese political crisis, which has been worsening for just over two months. He says "that negotiations are under way to bring things back to normal in the country," reports koaci.com.



According to this pan-African news site, the Ghanaian head of state addressed the issue of the Togolese crisis last Monday during a hearing granted to the crowned heads of the presidency.

He said he can not remain indifferent to what is happening in Togo today. He added that he met Faure Gnassngbé about ten days ago, with whom he discussed the situation. "From this private meeting, he will say that they had a long and fruitful discussion. In addition to visiting Faure, the President of Ghana has continued to be in contact with other Togolese political actors to find solutions to the situation prevailing in the country, "the source said.

"In view of a successful outcome to the situation prevailing in the French-speaking neighbor, Togbega Fiti V (supreme leader of Aflao, a Ghanaian town bordering on Lome) urged President Akufo-Addo to use his experience and knowledge to help restore peace in Togo, "also reports koaci.com.

Nana Akufo-Addo promised to work for a solution to this crisis that pushes Togolese to take refuge on the Ghanaian territory.
