Politics: Isidore Latzoo: "Carthage must be destroyed"

Two major demonstrations, for the general mobilization of the Togolese people, are planned Wednesday and Thursday throughout the national territory. These demonstrations are a consequence of the popular mobilization of 19 August (whose sponsor is none other than the Pan-African National Party, PNP) in Lomé and several towns in Togo. Today, the savage and bloody repression sustained by the demonstrations of the PNP galvanized the people and the leaders of the opposition who are preparing for an assault for the liberation of Togo.

The demonstrations on 6 and 7 September are organized to demand, on the one hand, the return to the Constitution of 14 October 1992, the revision of the electoral framework and the establishment of the right to vote of Togolese from abroad, on the other hand, denounce the savage repression of the peaceful demonstrations of 19 and 20 August 2017 ... demanding that an independent investigation be carried out to locate the responsibility and bring to justice the perpetrators and sponsors of the violence and demand the release of those arrested , the immediate cessation of persecution of NPP militants and leaders, and the removal of obstacles to the exercise of the constitutional right of demonstration.

For the president of the Togolese Committee of Resistance (CTR), Isidore Latzoo, these demonstrations are an important step for the liberation of the Togolese people, but those who think that two or three days' demonstrations will bring down the regime in place, undeceive. That is why, for him, we must get rid of these demands (constitutional and institutional reforms, APG and others) that amuse the Togolese regime to demand its departure purely and simply. Since he will not make reforms that can be fatal to him. "This regime is not reformable. It is impossible to ask him to saw the branch on which he is sitting, "said Isidore Latzoo. It is a diet that has come into the blood and is kept in the blood, "he continues. "Togo is soaked in the blood of the innocent, "stressed Isidore Latzoo. According to him, it is necessary to stop turning around the pot, to want to find a compromise with the regime (the oppressor) to go to the essential, its annihilation. To do this, it is necessary to diagnose this regime (which has been done) and then clean the stables with a good strategy of the opposition.

The diagnosis

For Isidore Latzoo, Togo is not a democracy, as one tries to make believe it to the opinion. It was a "militaro-mafia regime" that took the country hostage. It is, he argues, a few individuals who enjoy privileges and who make shady and mafia matters at the head of Togo. "The little fan Faure GNASSINGBE is not the elected President of the Togolese! The regime to which we are subjected, against our will, is neither democratic nor republican and can not be reformed. It is a question, let us repeat, of a dictatorship, at once military and mafia, which deprives the Togolese of the fruits of their labor, and makes our country a vast field of ruins, a zone of no right handed over to the voracious appetite of the foreign underworld, particularly French-African, "he wrote in 2007. And so, the Togolese can not and must not fight this regime as one fights a normal regime. Popular mobilization is needed throughout the national territory and to make people aware of the role of each in this struggle. This must be well prepared. "There will be no room for improvisation. The popular struggle, to be invincible, is preparing, "he said. To do this, one needs the "discourse of the method".

The method

Isidore Latzoo has come to a conclusion: the RPT / UNIR regime will not change, given its nature (militaro-mafieuse). He therefore calls on his opposition comrades to change their shoulder guns. For this, there must be another discourse before the people who, on several occasions, have demonstrated their determination to put an end to the regime. According to him, it must be made clear to the Togolese people that only the popular uprising (well prepared elsewhere) could overcome this military-mafia regime. The "peace of the cemeteries" which is observed in the country must even worry the opposition which no longer has the right to error. The latter, invites Isidore Latzoo, is called to leave the "political gibberish" behind which she has always sheltered, even when the people are ready to end the regime. For him, the Togolese people have been ready since October 5, 1990, which was prepared since September 23, 1986, when the Togolese discovered that the regime of Gnassingbé Eyadéma is not untouchable. But the opposition, from blunder to blunder, helped Eyadema get up. Some leaders of this opposition, according to him, have always shone by their lack of conviction, and especially their concern to serve their belly first. "For the Togolese people have always played their part perfectly, whenever circumstances require it. It is always the sovereign pontiffs of the leadership of the traditional opposition parties who fail and betray, "he said. And to insist: "To tell the truth, the recurring evil that handicaps us heavily in our desire to get rid of the yoke of dictatorship, is at the level of the official leadership of the struggle we are leading. This direction is riddled with dispensers of false doctrines, which are as many ambushes or mousets in which the assaults of the Togolese who regularly seek their confiscated freedom regularly come and go ".

He then had to change his method by applying the right remedy. This is why we must refer to his discourse on the method of saying clearly to the people what it must do to free itself. There is no longer any need to take refuge in primitive discourses that lead to the treatment of a headache by taking medicines that cure the feet. This "intellectual laziness of the opposition," he adds, must cease. For him, "carthage must be destroyed". Whatever the determination of the people, the popular struggle is not improvised.

About Carthage

Carthage was an empire of North Africa which led incursions on Rome. It is the symbol of the attacks, the oppression that made life hard for the citizens of Rome. Exhausted and tired of fleeing the oppressor, a citizen of Rome began by holding speeches that invited the Romans to face the oppressor and destroy it. He ended his speeches with "Delenda est Carthago", which means "Carthage must be destroyed".

For Isidore Latzoo, the beast is not yet. It must be destroyed completely. The dawn of the new day, according to him, is on the horizon. "Dear compatriots, the obscene regime established by the militaro-mafia dynasty of the GNASSINGBÉ is at bay! The dawn of a new day is on the horizon. But the foul beast that sowed the infamy, the desolation and the death on the Earth of our ancestors has not yet surrendered the soul. To recover our confiscated freedom completely, we must redouble our vigilance, courage and combativeness. There was no compromise, no more discussion, no more of those scoundrel agreements that were so many life-saving buoys that uselessly extended the lives of our oppressors at the expense of our compatriots who had become slaves on their own soil. Henceforth our immediate objective must be only the killing of this predatory system. Our freedom is at this price. Delenda is Carthago! The struggle continues ! "Said the CTR chairman. "The Togolese are not dunces, nor broken arms. It is the struggle that brings out those responsible. It is the people who give themselves a leader. I am against the coup, but I am for the organized popular struggle, "he said. And, according to him, it is after destroying Carthage that one must think of a day after Togo. but I am for the organized popular struggle, "he said. And, according to him, it is after destroying Carthage that one must think of a day after Togo. but I am for the organized popular struggle, "he said. And, according to him, it is after destroying Carthage that one must think of a day after Togo.

Cleaning the stables

The president of the Togolese Committee of Resistance (CTR) advocates a government of public safety after the annihilation of the oppressor. "I am not in this machinery of national unity government where we put all the dunces. We must clean the stables and put in place a government of public safety, "he said. And it is this government that can bring back to the people the constitution that it wants. Otherwise, to ask the oppressor, he says, is to help him to keep himself busy. With the discourse of the method, a good strategy and the courage of the Togolese people, this objective will be reached, he concludes.
