From 18 to 24 May, all national museums in Togo will open their doors to the public. In any case, a communiqué from the Ministry of Communication, Sports, Arts and Culture, a copy of which we have received, indicates.
According to the statement, this initiative is part of the celebration of International Museum Day. For this edition 2017, the theme chosen is "Museum and painful history: to say the unspeakable in the museums".
The minister calls on the Togolese public to storm the various museums of the different regions of the country to discover or rediscover the vestiges of the past.
Visits can be made to the National Museum at the Lomé Convention Center. The museums of Aného, Sokode, Kara and Dapaong will also open to the public. Access is free and free.
Guided tours to the National Museum are planned with storytellers.
Note that museums play an important role in the transmission of historical realities.
