Atchadam: "Alternation is imminent"

"We can say without hesitation that the year 2017, a year of struggle to reject the monarchy of the country and tear off the political alternation, after 50 years of autocratic dynasty, has kept all its promises." This is the summary record drawn by the leader of the National Pan African Party (PNP), Tikpi Atchadam of the past year, at the beginning of the new year.

"We have succeeded in realizing the sine qua non condition that all people must fulfill if they want to take their destiny into their own hands and decide for themselves. This essential and sufficient condition is the awareness that enables a people subjected to brute force whose rights are constantly violated to stand up and straighten their heads, "he says.

According to Mr. Atchadam, "every standing people gets rid of any dictator". Even if the alternation, "ultimate goal" of the PNP and the coalition of 14 political parties of the Togolese opposition is not yet acquired, he says, the fact of having achieved this "essential and sufficient condition" Place the alternation within the reach of the opposition.

"It's only a matter of time," he adds, emphasizing that the impossible, the alternation has gone from possible. "Today, it is imminent. How much has been done in such a short time, "he notes.

According to Tikpi Atchadam, Faure Gnassingbe's regime, which for him is "the most violent regime in the sub-region," invents everything to demonize the PNP, in the name of power for life. But it is unsuccessful, he rejoices before adding that "Togo can not continue to be an island of dictatorship and patrimonialization of power by a family and opposing democratization, the Togolese regime submits the sub-region to fragility and instability ".

"The PNP is fighting for a Togo permanently cured of corruption and state robbery, a reassuring Togo for people, goods, services and capital, including foreign capital invested with us. Our country, instead of inventing stories to sleep, would benefit from breaking with diplomatic amateurism which, like a wind vane, obeys the blow of the wind, "he observes.

The alternation obtained, according to him, Togo will have to develop a diplomacy based on African solidarity acting but especially concerted for international relations appeased.

The one by which the contestation of the power of Lomé 2 has become more increased since last August 19, wishes the alternation to the Togolese people for this new year.

And it is in response to the problem that the Government launched last March, the Program of definition of the national targets on neutrality in land degradation (PDC / NDT). On Thursday in Lomé, environmental experts validated a document that will serve as a blueprint for sustainable land management in Togo. This document, which estimates that 23,500 hectares of land are degraded each year in Togo between 2000 and 2010, has already identified national targets assessed on the basis of indicators such as land use, net productivity or carbon. According to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources, Sama Boundjouw, these targets and their measures to be validated will become guidelines for any actor involved in the fight against land degradation in Togo during the next twelve...
