The diaspora in the USA remained in solidarity with the protest of Saturday January 13 in the country
Several movements of the Togolese diaspora in the USA commemorated January 13, the date of the assassination of the democratically elected president Sylvanus Olympio, the father of the struggle for independence of the country. An assassination claimed by Etienne Gnassingbé Eyadéma who, even dead, continues with the help of his son to roll Togo still in the flour, according to the protesters.
Far from the land of the ancestors, the Togolese of the United States have been keen to contribute by their mobilizations, to "reveal the failure of the governance of Faure Gnassingbé" to the face of the world, in the words of the organizers.
Their message on placards marched in front of two great American authorities: the parliament and the American executive. If the power of Faure Gnassingbe dresses the disputes in Lomé by this history of terrorism, it is up to the diaspora to support the reality, that of a people disappointed by a family for more than 50 years, who still does not want to let go of ballast, support the organizers.
Protesters in the US this Saturday, January 13, have left the White House, Capitol.
Since the beginning of the disputes, the ruling party that organizes counter-demonstrations, can not mobilize in the diaspora. It was only in Ivory Coast that a party rally went unnoticed.
According to an opposition leader, this situation is proof that the party of Faure Gnassingbé is vomited is that even in the country, the mobilizations are the fruit of the purchases of consciences, so much the populations are hungry that for small sums, the young people allied with the demonstrations of the ruling party.
On the opposition side, there are constant movements in Germany, France, the USA, Norway, Belgium, Korea, Dakar and even in Ghana, where the police and the judiciary do not stop intimidating the demonstrators with arrests.
