The Togolese President, President-in-Office of ECOWAS also had during his stay in Addis Ababa, talks with Ivorian Presidents Alassane Ouattara, Bissau Guinea, Mario José Vaz and the former Prime Minister of Togo and current President of International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), Gilbert Fossoun Houngbo.
"I had fruitful exchanges with my counterpart in Côte d'Ivoire," President Faure Gnassingbé wrote on his twitter account. "With Guinea-Bissau President Mario José Vaz, we discussed the crisis in his country and the willingness of ECOWAS Heads of State to find a lasting solution" to this crisis, he said. .
On the sidelines of the activities of the extraordinary session of the ECOWAS, the Togolese President also participated on Sunday, January 28, 2018, in the work of the 30th Summit of the African Union (AU). The fight against corruption, the issue of migration and the reform of the institution have been at the heart of this summit, which ends on Monday 29 January.
