On 20, 21, 22 and 23 March, it will be peaceful demonstrations followed by rallies throughout the territory on the initiative of the Coalition of 14 opposition parties. As prescribed by the Bodjona law on the organization of public demonstrations, the Coalition of 14 has sent since March 12, a note to the Ministry of Territorial Administration of Decentralization and Local Authorities.
This is for informational purposes according to the law. The two parties (organizers of the march and the government) will have to discuss and agree on the measures to be taken to secure the markets. The Coalition has specified all the cities within the country where the events and itineraries will be held.
The opposition is demanding "The return to the constitution" of 1992 ", the revision of the electoral framework and the introduction of the right to vote of Togolese living abroad,"
Added to this are other demands related to "The cessation of the ongoing unilateral process that has gone a step further with the appointment on Thursday, March 01 last presidents of independent local election commissions (TFSA")
