The UN System Coordination, the European Union delegation and the embassies of Germany, the United States of America and France have just released a joint statement on the "Lomé 2018" talks between opposition whose resumption of work tramples.
"The coordination of the United Nations System, the Delegation of the European Union and the Embassies of Germany, the United States of America and France express their gratitude to the Ghanaian authorities for their commitment to the inter-Togolese political dialogue. and support their efforts, "reads the statement.
The International Community says it has nevertheless "noted" the difficulties faced by the actors involved in this inter-Togolese dialogue.
It therefore invites the two protagonists, "to respect the commitments made as part of the preparation and conduct of the first sessions of the inter-Togolese dialogue that began on 19 February; to go beyond the principled positions and to engage without delay, in the interest of all Togolese, in a substantive discussion on constitutional and electoral issues, in order to reach an agreement on the reforms in the respect of the Rule of law and the legal and constitutional provisions in force; to reach an agreement on a renewed and consensual democratic framework, so that Togolese voters can express a choice in free and transparent elections ".
Let us remember that the international community plays a non-negligible role in the resolution of the Togolese political crisis.
