"Hello 1011" and "Ushadi" for the fight against violence against children



Operational from the mobile networks, these two projects will be used to denounce via SMS and calls through the free green line "Allo 1011" cases of rape and violence on children. They were officially launched this Friday in Lomé, by the Ministry of Social Action for the Promotion of Women and Literacy with the collaboration of Plan International Togo and its partners.



Non-exhaustive data from the 2014 Child Protection Dashboard shows rape, physical abuse of children in schools, learning centers and homes.

According to Tchabinandi Kolani Yentcharé, Minister in charge of Social Action, these figures call for the need to rethink the strategies for strengthening existing protection mechanisms to guarantee children a violence-free environment.

Confidential reporting of acts of violence against children, without fear of reprisal, is possible this time with the Ushadi platform, "testimony" in Swahili. This will increase the level of whistleblowing and alerting, make it easier to handle cases of abuse and improve data collection at the ministry level.

Finally with "Allo 1011" young people can have information and advice on sexual and reproductive health.

Octavianus was only 18 years old when he ascended the Papacy of the Roman Catholic Church and became Pope John XII on December 16, 955. He was the only son of Duke Alberic II (932–954) of Spoleto, then ruler of Rome.
