From commissions to committees, the commission set up by Faure Gnassingbé to stand still. The warnings to this effect have not failed, and time now confirms it. After seven months of activities, the committee of intellectuals, who are supposed to get the most out of the work of all the other committees, comes back to square one: a tour to gather the suggestions of the populations on the question of the reforms.
How far will the UNIR regime go and when will the reforms in Togo? When Awa-Nana Daboya organized a workshop on reforms in July 2016, savvy spirits quickly made a shout at a dilatory event, to turn the people into a jerk.
After days of ballet in the sumptuous Radisson blu 2 February in Lomé, against a backdrop of waste of public funds, Faure Gnassingbé returned the findings to the drawer and reinstated a new commission composed of figures like Adji Othèt Ayassor, and Dodzi Kokoroko Which are no longer to be presented in the intimates of the Head of State. The committee was asked to submit a text on the reforms in a short time.
The latest discovery of the power in place is a turn towards the people to gather the suggestions and recommendations of the people. Is it not necessary to begin with this? Beyond the question of delay that the commission of intellectuals violates, the dilatory cultivated on the subject of the reforms confirms the will of Faure Gnassingbé to maintain Togo in the system of monarchy disguised as a dictatorial democracy that prevails in Togo for 50 years.
A single-member ballot with two (2) rounds, the limitation of presidential mandates, ... are classified in a category of so-called urgent reforms that Faure Gnassingbé himself promised to achieve through the political agreement. An agreement that he signed in 2006 with the same promises confirmed in the aftermath of a popular uprising in 2012. So the people had already spoken. Since 1992, the people are constantly talking.
Suffrage having voted in favor of the constitution of 1992, is far above the total suffrage of the deputies under the aegis of Gnassingbé Eyadema charcutated the constitution in 2002. It was recently crushed the small Togo of 56 600 km² in 116 communes without consulting Despite disagreements. In the name of the same people, all proposals for reform were rejected in the National Assembly to give high priority to the famous commission of Mrs. Awa-Nana Daboya. And it is curiously while all eyes are on the text of reforms that this commission should propose, that we talk about going to take the suggestions of the populations whose proposals were refused through the elected representatives in the hemicycle .
What a way to shower upside down!
