'Democrats' relocate troops to Togo

Faced with the refusal of the political and electoral reforms envisaged by the Global Political Agreement (APG), the only alternative to free Togo from the claws of the fiftieth anniversary regime remains popular mobilization. And it is not the leaders of the political party "Democrats" who will say the opposite.

On Saturday, 12 August 2017, a delegation of this political group composed of Evedzi Mawoussi, 2nd Vice-President of the party, Foly Yaovia, Secretary General, Gérard Akoumey, Spokesman and Gbagan Seyram, Federal President of Vo, Tour of awareness and information in the canton of Togoville in the prefecture of Vo.

The objective of this tour is not only to inform people about the issues of the moment, but also and above all to show them that the Togolese opposition to learn the lessons of its errors of the past and intends to reorient its struggle of another So that the sovereign people can play their score for a political alternation in Togo.

Whether in Agbantokope, Badougbe, Togoville or Ekpui, the message was clear: The Togolese people must rise as one man alongside the democratic forces for the final battle.

In the course of exchanges with the populations of this canton of the prefecture of Vo, Gérard Akoumey and his followers tried to explain the crux of the problem which prevents the advent of political alternation in Togo. For "Democrats," the Togolese opposition has made many mistakes in the past by taking the sword of Togo's liberation, leaving the "people" who are normally the only "sovereign" ".

The search for personal interests against the background of political calculations was also the other venom that paralyzes the Togolese political class to the delight of the dictatorial fiftieth anniversary of the Gnassingbe.

"But, We have become aware of these mistakes, "said Gérard Akoumey in front of the populations of the township of Togoville.

For the Spokesman of "The Democrats", "Today, the opposition must speak with one voice, since it is one of the dearest wishes of the Togolese people as a whole. That being the case, this people who are sovereign, this people for whom we work, must tell us where we must go, what we must do to get Togo out of the hands of the oppressor. Let the people not take the political leaders as the only decision-makers, people who are perched up there. We are rather servants. The Togolese people must take their responsibilities. It must become aware of its value, its place, its weight in the struggle we are leading. The people have only to ask the democratic forces to use strategies to remove the dictatorship that governs Togo fifty years.

Even though these messages, which were supposed to raise awareness, received a favorable support, the people of the canton of Togoville did not fail to give their opinion on the socio-political and economic situation of the country.

Betrayed and disappointed by the false promises of the political leaders who have traveled their canton during the previous elections, these people openly maintain that they no longer trust any politician in Togo. For them, elections are not the remedy for the evils suffered by the country. Only a revolution can bring Togo out of dictatorship.

"I agree with the messages that the Democratic Party delegation has given us. In my intervention, I said that. Togo no longer needs an election until it has access to democracy. Apart from God himself, only the uprising of the people can snatch power from this regime. The objectives of the political party Democrats are good. When I was in the PFC became the UFC, the political alternation was always my motivation. But the struggle has been sabotaged. Today, we want real wrestlers to free this country from the hands of thieves. Only a revolution can bring Togo out of this dictatorship, "said Foly Nontrson Barnabé, a former militant of the Union of Forces of Change (UFC) who came to attend the meeting in Togoville.

"Messages from the political party Democrats are clear. And we intend to support them. In time, we supported the UFC. But in the end, they disappointed us. We do not want any more election in Togo, but a mobilization to drive out this regime. Enough is enough. We Togoville natives are ready for mobilization, "said Tovor Attiogbé.

Foly Yaovia, National Secretary of the party "Democrats", for his part, recommended to these populations, enamored of the political alternation in Togo "always dare to tell their four truths to all the other political parties that will pass later".

"You know very well the real political parties that are fighting today for political alternation in Togo in particular, those gathered in the group of 11. If they come after us, welcome them as you welcomed us. And listen to their messages, They will not be different from what we have just delivered to you. The destiny of the country is also in your hands, "he told the audience.

Note that the stage of the canton of Togoville is only the beginning. "If we chose the township of Togoville to start the tour, it is for the simple reason that Togoville gave its name to Togo. This has great significance for us. On Saturday, August 19, we will be in the prefectures of Afagnan and the Lakes. Afterwards we will be in the Plateaux and in the North of the country for the sensitization ", underlined Gérard Akoumey.

Let us recall that the party "Democrats" is an integral part of the Group of 6 which will hold on 09 September a major meeting in Vogan.

Ibeji (Twins) In Yoruba land, one of the most important things done when a child is born is to give the child a name. But sometimes, the circumstance of a child’s birth will automatically give the child a name. This name is known as ‘orúko àmútọ̀runwá’ (pre-destined or generic name) in Yorubaland. The most common generic names (orúko àmútọ̀runwá) in Yoruba land are ‘Taiwo‘ and ‘Kehinde‘ (altogether known as Ìbejì) which are given to twins. Togo now has its plan to combat land degradation

Land degradation is a reality in Togo. According to figures put forward by the Ministry of the Environment, each year 4.14% of the land (nationally) succumb to the phenomenon. And it is in response to the problem that the Government launched last March, the Program of definition of the national targets on neutrality in land degradation (PDC / NDT). On Thursday in Lomé, environmental experts validated a document that will serve as a blueprint for sustainable land management in Togo. This document, which estimates that 23,500 hectares of land are degraded each year in Togo between 2000 and 2010, has already identified national targets assessed on the basis of indicators such as land use, net productivity or carbon. According to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources, Sama Boundjouw, these targets and their measures to be validated will become guidelines for any actor involved in the fight against land degradation in Togo during the next twelve
