On Tuesday, 1 August 2017, the people of Benin commemorated the 57th anniversary of their country's accession to international sovereignty. It is through an evening of reunion between sons and daughters of Benin, supported by other foreign communities in Togo. The evening was held in a hotel in Lomé, more precisely in the neighborhood Kégué-Kélégougan, where the head of the district, Togbui Ali Komla V honored with his presence. Also present were representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the president of the African Diaspora Forum (ADF) and several officials from other foreign communities.
