Government media campaign against PNP march

Payadowa Boukpessi in the studio of Pyramide FM

Aside from the repressive tool Yark Damehame and Payadowa Boukpessi branded against the march that the Pan-African National Party (PNP) is organizing tomorrow in several cities in Togo, including Lomé, the government has launched a media campaign this morning to demobilize and The leaders of this party.

They stormed private radio stations in the capital this morning. Yark Damehame, the Minister of Safety and Emergency Preparedness, defended himself on Radio Victoire FM in the morning newspaper.

"When we follow the declarations of PNP supporters on social networks, we are careful! We must take all measures to avoid overflow and regret tomorrow, "he said, among other things.

Her colleague of the Territorial Administration, Decentralization and Local Government, Payadowa Boukpessi was on the radio Pyramide FM at the same time, for the same exercise.

What is retained of these displacements is that the government imposes its desiderata on the organizers of the demonstration. It is clear in their reactions that the PNP must follow the itinerary drawn up by the authority. Otherwise, the walk will be suppressed.

A decision that goes against the law governing peaceful public demonstrations in Togo, as Tikpi Atchadam, chairman of PNP, said yesterday.

This media campaign is organized with the aim of sowing fear and demobilization among the population. A fear that could prevent them from making the move tomorrow Saturday. Since members of the government are threats and intimidations, with the repression they guarantee to the demonstrators.

The campaign continues earlier at 11 am on Kanal FM radio, where Yark Damehame is expected in the program "Club de la Presse" hosted by Sas Gaou.

In the maneuvers, power brokers are mentioned.  When it unilaterally launched the process of decentralization and fanciful creation of the communes, the power blinded by an electoral vision did not see the danger coming.
