The oldest and only high school of Vogan vegetates in a state of decay which does not say name. The old school is visibly forgotten by those trained there. Pastor Edoh Komi of the Martin Luther King movement appeals to intellectuals, economists, doctors and anyone who has been trained to bring his stone to restore the blazon of this school. They therefore call on school officials to make good use of the tuition fees collected each school year. Read the press release.
The state of degradation of the school infrastructure which shelters the Vogan general secondary school is no longer a secret, because it is clearly visible and tangible, seen by all. Indeed, the Vogan High School created in 1974 is one of the oldest schools in the maritime region.
As a result, thousands of intellectuals, economists, doctors, men and women of rights, managers, traders and executives of all levels have passed through this school, which today is unfortunately abandoned and left behind. In the open air and therefore not enclosed in an old architecture whose doors and windows in tatters, its apparent state does not resemble a domain of a 3rd degree school.
Yet the Vogan lycée continues to play its role as the oldest and only public high school in the commune and canton of Vogan, whose numbers remain and remain overwhelming and plethoric. What is the purpose of the schooling of these thousands of learners? How can you pay the school fees and continue studying in classrooms that do not guarantee security and quiet? These conditions are far from ensuring and promoting both decent work for teachers and access to better education for pupils.
At a time when Vo populations are gathering for their traditional ADZINUKUZAN festival during these periods, the MMLK makes a vibrant appeal to the Regional Directorate of Education, to the administrative officers of the school, to the office of parents of pupils, to the prefectural authorities, Vo staff and former Vogan high school students to mobilize their financial and material energies to enhance the image of this great center of knowledge and teaching.
It will be malicious, suicidal and dangerous to have children return to this school during the next school year at the risk of their lives.
