The president of the Togolese League of Student Rights is determined to go to the end of his struggle. Despite his arbitrary arrest on 14 June, his imprisonment (for more than two weeks in Lomé Civil Prison), his 12-month suspended sentence, Foly Satchivi does not yield to intimidation.
At a press conference on Tuesday in Lomé, Satchivi returned to the last events that shook the University of Lomé (UL) on 14, 15 and 16 June.
The student of Faculty of Law (FDD), pointed the accusing finger, the president of the UL, Pr Komlan Dodji Kokoroko in the said events. "We were convicted for telling the authorities what everyone is thinking in a low voice," Foly Satchivi said.
According to him, during his stay in the prison, several civilian and military personalities had visited him and persuaded him to abandon the fight, in return for "good promises".
"I remained the same as I am before being arrested and put in prison. We will never betray the struggle because a fighter dies with arms in his hand. We have in our hands the fate of more than 3 million Togolese students and students, "he promised.
Recall that the LTDE gives until July 17, 2017 to the governmental and academic authorities to satisfy its demands.
