Faure Gnassingbé appoints new government member

The Togolese government has just expanded to a new member. By presidential decree taken this Tuesday, the head of state, Faure Gnassingbé has just brought to the position of Secretary of State to the Presidency of the Republic, in charge of the inclusive finance and informal sector a manager named Mazamaesso Assih .

The creation of this secretariat of state entrusted to this young lady not very well known to the Togolese, means that the sector of the inclusive finance is no longer part of the ministry of development at the base.

A ceremony was also organized on the same day between Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé, minister in charge of development at the base and the new secretary of state.

"I measure the weight of the task entrusted to me and the challenge that we must together face for the well-being of our populations. The team of the National Fund for Inclusive Finance (FNFI) and now the informal sector that joins us will do our best to meet the expectations and aspirations of the rural populations and try to contribute to the social and economic development expected through these two instruments by the Head of State ", are the first words of Lady Assih.

Launched in January 2014, the inclusive finance program covers, according to information, more than 800,000 Togolese through Access to the Financial Services (APSEF), Access to Financial Services (AJSEF) and Access from farmers to financial services (AGRISEF).

And it is in response to the problem that the Government launched last March, the Program of definition of the national targets on neutrality in land degradation (PDC / NDT). This document, which estimates that 23,500 hectares of land are degraded each year in Togo between 2000 and 2010, has already identified national targets assessed on the basis of indicators such as land use, net productivity or carbon. According to the Secretary General of the Ministry of Environment and Forest Resources, Sama Boundjouw, these targets and their measures to be validated will become guidelines for any actor involved in the fight against land degradation in Togo during the next twelve...
