Foreign Embassies call on Togolese to remain calm

Diplomats accredited to Togo closely follow the current socio-political developments in the country. They call on political actors for dialogue and calm. Read the statement!

While observing which the various Togolese political forces were able to demonstrate this week and publicly express their convictions, the European Union delegation, the United Nations System Coordination and the embassies of Germany, the United States of America and France in Togo deplore the violence that took place in the city of Mango. They call all parties to calm and restraint.

In the spirit of the 2006 Global Political Agreement, they encourage all Togolese to enter into a peaceful dialogue with a view to the adoption of constitutional reforms that will strengthen democracy in Togo and calmly prepare local elections and legislative measures in 2018.

Togo now has its plan to combat land degradation

Land degradation is a reality in Togo. According to figures put forward by the Ministry of the Environment, each year 4.14% of the land (nationally) succumb to the phenomenon. And it is in response to the problem that the Government launched last March, the Program of definition of the national targets on neutrality in land degradation (PDC / NDT). On Thursday in Lomé, environmental experts validated a document that will serve as a blueprint for sustainable land management in Togo.
