Dame Josée Ayoko Ayi, the wealthy merchant who was arrested last March for selling obsolete products, was sentenced to six months in jail, four of them suspended.
She was arrested for using two students who by an ingenious method erased the expiration dates on the products and then sold them on the market. On Monday, she was convicted along with her accomplices as promised by the DCPJ.
She had a total of 8 stores filled with damaged goods and a van loaded with 239 cartons of obsolete cans.
