Togolese boxing is in mourning. John Codjo Mensan alias Kpalogo has just left the world of the living.
The sad news has come to us. The one who was Togo's pride in boxing on an international level, is no more. He gave up his soul this morning in his home.
Kpalogo had made the glory of Togo in the 70s and 80s. He was African champion and vice-world champion in his category. But it was in total destitution that he lived his last days on earth. A destitution that contrasts with the services he has rendered to the nation.
For some months now, he had been appealing to the Togolese authorities to help him, because he was living in a situation of misery. But obviously, no one gave him a helping hand.
"I am the first Togolese boxer who has fought in the world class, and if the old leaders have done nothing to me, can not the new ones do anything for me, or they may be waiting for me to die To cover my coffin with national colors, "he confided to our colleagues in MO5.
That the earth may be light for him !
