Many of us just think cucumbers are the stuff that rich people cut up and place on their eyes to look fancy. However, these poor fruits have totally been underrated. That’s right! I just called them fruits, not vegetables because that’s what they are. You didn’t know that, did you?
Here are more things to know then and they should spur you into eating cucumbers more.
Cucumbers are rich in a wide array of minerals and vitamins which aid digestion, fight intestinal worms and prevent cancer.
They are made up of at least 95 percent water and so they are excellent snacks on a hot day, not to mention that they are able to cool you off both externally and internally. They can literally cool the temperature of your blood- ponder where the phrase ‘cool as a cucumber’ is derived from. Cucumbers are also excellent for dental health. Supposing you feel your breath is not fresh and you don’t have mint, you could get a slice of cucumber and press it against the roof of your tongue for 30 seconds. It works like magic.
Cucumbers are like unsung heroes. Constantly eating them can dissolve kidney stones over time and treat blood pressure, not to mention strengthening bones.
Of course, cucumbers are also beneficial to your hair and skin, giving the former a glossy, healthy look and treating blemishes on the latter. They can also be used to treat dark circles around the eyes and ease facial swelling. Cucumbers are indeed highly underestimated and you should make it a habit to eat them some more, especially raw.
What baffles me the most about this wonder fruit is that it can be used to eliminate fog on your bathroom mirror by rubbing a slice across the mirror. It leaves behind a fragrance that would make you wonder if you are at a spa!
