On Tuesday, MEPs unanimously adopted the draft law on the orientation of Higher Education and Research. This law gives new impetus to universities for scientific research, technical, technological and cultural innovation.
The focus will be on equipping universities with boards of directors for greater rigor and achieving results. The draft law also relies on the LMD system to meet the demand for professionalisation important in the international context of underemployment.
According to Nicoué Broohm, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) will be "a tool for distance learning in the face of the massification of the workforce in universities and the harmonization of higher education policies based on the LMD system" .
"The law that welcomed today your assent (note, members) is a framework that many texts are called to detail. Very soon, we will come back to you to solicit their adoption, "said Nicoué Broohm.
