The former President of Benin, Nicéphore Dieudonné Soglo, stayed in Togo from 16 to 17 May. A visit which allowed him to go with his family in the locality of Badou (150 Km north-west of Lomé).
"I came on a pilgrimage to my home in Badou and it's been about 30 years that I have not had the opportunity to come back," he said at the end of his visit testifying to his "immense joy "To have been able to go to the place where his deceased mother rests in the company of the head of state, Faure Gnassingbé. "It is a pilgrimage full of emotion for me," he said.
The Vice-President of the African Forum of Former Heads of State and Government, received on Wednesday 17 May at the new Presidential Palace by Faure Gnassingbé, praised the country for its Policy of "major works" and the quality of its infrastructures. He also expressed his gratitude to the Head of State for his help and guidance during this family visit and contemplation.
Nicéphore Dieudonné Soglo left Togo on Wednesday following his meeting with the head of state.
