What has become of Miss Togo's project on the creation of green spaces in Agoè Cacavéli?

Carrying a project to create green spaces along the rails at Agoč Cacavéli, Miss Togo 2016, Balbina D'almeida Kokoè has to get rid of rubbish that people litter around. From the first moments of her election, she had insisted that protecting the environment would be her battleground.

A good project, but suffers from a good strategy to achieve it. And as nature hates emptiness, space is once again unrecognizable by the garbage that has returned to its place. Where are the green spaces promised to the population?

August is fast approaching and its mandate is coming to an end. One wonders what she will say at the end of her term.

When questioned, some local residents acknowledged that after the garbage collection, the place had become clean. "We kept our garbage in the bags for almost a month, not knowing where to put them, we rejected them there," says one lady.

And the other to add: "It is true that we have got rid of this garbage, but the evil is that in this district, there is no structure of garbage collection household. We do not have the choice ".

When announcing the creation of these green spaces along the rails, many people thought that there would be provisions like the relocation of dumps so that the garbage is no longer thrown along the rails. But nothing did.

The project itself is significant. But Balbina Kokoè, should the local residents believe, should accompany him with a clear vision, so that his mandate is reduced only to tours and posts on his facebook page, waiting for a maximum of "Like" and Of comments.

Oruko Amutorunwa (Pre-Destined Names) In Yorubaland

Ibeji (Twins) In Yoruba land, one of the most important things done when a child is born is to give the child a name. This comes after the child’s ritual birth, massage of specific body parts and other rites as well. Names are given to the child by the father, mother, grandparents (paternal and maternal) and some close relatives also. But sometimes, the circumstance of a child’s birth will automatically give the child a name. This name is known as ‘orúko àmútọ̀runwá’ (pre-destined or generic name) in Yorubaland. The most common generic names (orúko àmútọ̀runwá) in Yoruba land are ‘Taiwo‘ and ‘Kehinde‘ (altogether known as Ìbejì) which are given to twins. The first born of the twins is called Táíwò, a shortened form of Tò-aiyé-wò (taste the world) while the last born of the twins is called Kéhìndé which literally means “the last to come”. Contrary to the popular belief that Taiwo, being the first born of the twins, is old
