The elements of the Togolese armed forces reportedly carried out a tough intervention in Tatale-sanguli, a town in northern Ghana on 21 May. This morning, Brother Togo Breaking News reported.
According to the confrere, the Ghanaian media have been speaking of this intervention for a few days and indicate that it was intended to apprehend seven armed robbers who had taken hostage the inhabitants of the district located 3km from the border between the two countries.
But the Ghanaian authorities, while recognizing the prowess of the Togolese armed forces during their intervention, conceal it.
"Local authorities in this part of Ghana are evoking the vulnerability of the people and have called on Nana Akufo-Addo's government to create more police stations and barriers on major roads such as the Tatale-Nahuyili road and the Tatale- Tatindo, "says the colleague.
No formal response has yet been received from the Ministry of Safety and Emergency Preparedness regarding this intervention.
